It can be upsetting to see a dead animal on the roadside, whether it's a domestic animal or a wild animal such as a fox. We are responsible for the removal of dead animals found on public land and highways *. If you come across one, contact us and we'll remove it.
Once a dead animal is reported to us we aim to remove it from a public highway/land as soon as we can.
When reporting a dead animal, you can help us to locate the animal quickly by providing as much information as possible about the location of the animal.
We are unable to arrange collection of dead animals or pets on private land.
* Dead animals or pets found on A56 are the responsibility of National Highways please contact the - https://nationalhighways.co.uk/help-centre/
Pets
If the pet has a readable microchip or collar, our team will try to contact the owner to let them know they've been found. Please remember to update your pets' microchips if you change any of your details.
We have limited facilities to store dead animals. If we can't get in touch with the owner(s) within a few hours, we'll unfortunately have to dispose of them.
