We have 24 hour CCTV in town centres and areas of high activity throughout Rossendale (Bacup, Haslingden, Rawtenstall).
The aim of the system is to reduce crime, and create a safer environment in the areas where the cameras are situated.
Rossendale is part of a wider East Lancashire Partnership which shares recording and management functions.
The images from the cameras are transmitted to a shared East Lancashire recording hub hosted by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Images are recorded and kept on the system for 28 days.
Requests for CCTV evidence
The police can request footage as part of their investigations. Insurance companies can request footage to help with claims.
Personal requests can also be made. There will be a small fee before footage is released.
Requests for a search for CCTV footage should be made within 28 days of the incident, and emailed to: cctv@blackburn.gov.uk
