Rossendale Borough Council has launched a search for the project lead who will oversee major developments following the award of more than £17m in government funding.
The Council is seeking applications for the role of consultant project manager/contract administrator as it embarks on its capital regeneration programme.
The opportunity comes following the awarding of more £17m from the government’s Capital Regeneration Project (CRP) Fund that will support its placemaking ambitions.
The successful applicant, who can submit a tender from July 24, will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of major developments across the borough.
The capital investment programme, announced in March, as part of the national Levelling Up Funding, will focus on enhancing traffic flows, promoting active travel, revitalising public spaces and investing in cultural amenities.
Rossendale Council will use the £17.9m awarded to improve traffic flows around the Rawtenstall gyratory, improve the public realm of Rawtenstall and Bacup and breathe new life into the markets in both towns. This will involve the creation of community space in a new Bacup market square and a performance venue at Rawtenstall market.
Council leader Alyson Barnes said: “This is an exciting time for Rossendale as we look to make a major impact on the borough. To achieve our ambitions, we need the right people alongside us to make them a reality within the time frames so we’d like to invite anyone interested in submitting a tender for this role to do so from 24 July.”
