Rossendale Council has announced that residents are now able register for the Household Support Fund.
Registrations for the fund will close on the 16 December and awards will be made shortly after the closing date.
The fund is part of a £400,000 package of support for local people and community groups provided by the council.
To be eligible to register for the fund, applicants MUST meet all of the following criteria:
- You must be a Rossendale resident
- Your household must be receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support
- Your household has to have children under 5 years of age
Applicants will also have to upload a recent monthly bank account statement.
In the wake of the national cost of living crisis, the council is keen to support Rossendale’s most vulnerable residents particularly through the Winter months.
Alyson Barnes, the Leader of the Council stated: “We realise that people are struggling at the moment and are concerned about the colder winter months. We’ve made this Household Support Fund available for our most vulnerable residents, to try and ease the pressure slightly for them.
“Ideally, we’d like to be able to help more people, but with limited funding available to us we have to make tough decisions and are directing this particular funding to those we feel need it most.
“We are keen to raise awareness of the support that’s out there for residents and there is more information on our website.”
