Rossendale Works– an employability programme run in partnership by Rossendale Council, Active Lancashire and the DWP – will be at Trinity Baptist Church in Bacup every Thursday morning from 10am- 12pm
The session at Trinity Baptist Church is aimed at local residents who are seeking support in accessing employment. The Rossendale Works project engages with people, improving their life skills by running activities and ultimately placing them into a work opportunity. Last year, Rossendale Works successfully secured employment for over 100 locals.
Rossendale Works Project Lead, Paul Becouarn from Active Lancashire, said: “Local residents who are seeking specialist support to enter employment, can hugely benefit from the weekly sessions at Trinity Baptist Church and I’d encourage them to come down and see what’s on offer”
Rossendale Works hold activities across Rossendale to support Rossendale residents with social barriers. The hand-held approach has proven to be very successful in recent years at getting residents back into the workplace or into training opportunities.
The programme supports residents with sporting and physical activities to improve their physical and mental health. The activities are free of charge and give people a chance to make positive changes which can help them with their job searches.
Paul added: “It’s been great working with Trinity Baptist Church in Bacup. Rossendale Works is a welcoming organisation filled with support for individuals – in terms of their job searches, but also their personal wellbeing. “The Minister at Bacup’s Trinity Baptist Church, Dave Bartman, and the volunteers have done a smashing job working closely with Rossendale Works; offering support, advice and guidance, job opportunities and a safe place for activities.“It’s on a Thursday morning 10 am until noon every week, everybody’s welcome, and it’s a chance to get a free sandwich.”
Rossendale Works has helped 79 Rossendale residents into employment since 4th January 2022. To find out more about the programme, please visit- https://bit.ly/RossendaleWorks
