Rossendale Borough Council and Chamber Low Carbon are working together to support businesses in the Valley on their journey to Net Zero.
Businesses of all sizes are being urged to attend the launch of the Rossendale Low Carbon Support Initiative at St Mary’s Chambers, Rawtenstall, on Wednesday, October 18, between 8.30 and 11am.
The aim is for businesses to save money through energy efficiency, reduce their carbon footprint, stimulate low carbon innovation and achieve Net Zero ambitions.
Rob Huntington, chief executive of Rossendale Borough Council said: “As a council we have a strong focus on achieving Net Zero and we greatly appreciate Chamber Low Carbon working with us to help towards that goal.”
Stephen Sykes, East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s Director of Sustainability, said: “The event is a great opportunity for us to give advice and explain what bespoke support is available to the business community of Rossendale.”
Rossendale Borough Council has teamed up with Chamber Low Carbon – which was created by East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce – to achieve its low carbon initiative.
The Government-supported programme is committed to providing services to improve energy and environmental efficiencies and to introduce on-site renewable energy generation.
Tariq Ali, Rossendale Borough Council’s Business Advisor, explained: “Every eligible Rossendale business of any size that signs up to the projects will be entitled to fully-funded support along their Net Zero journey.
“The support will be delivered via events, masterclasses and 1 to 1 bespoke support.”
