I started my month visiting Blackburn Cathedral for the Civic Service commemorating the D-Day Anniversary. It was a gathering of the county's civic dignitaries, with the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire Amanda Parker leading the way. I was joined by veterans, the Royal British Legion, and various armed forces organisations.

Myself and Cllr Jimmy Eaton went on to have a fantastic time at the Rossendale Means Business Expo at The Whitaker Museum. This was Rossendale’s first business expo event, organised by Rossendale Borough Council and GrowTraffic. The day was buzzing with energy and networking opportunities.

What an evening at The Ashcroft in Whitworth for the Rossendale Hospice Pride of Rossendale Awards! I celebrated with amazing individuals and groups, with awards for Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Young Person of the Year, and Community Group of the Year. So much inspiration in one room.

I had the pleasure of attending the Bocholt Delegation Civic Dinner at The Whitchaff. It was a delightful evening with members of the Official Bocholt Delegation dining alongside the Leader, Cabinet members, and Mayor’s Consort. Great food and even better company!

What a colorful day at the Bacup & Stacksteads Carnival! The parade started from Broadclough Mill and made its way through the town, eventually winding into Stubbylee and Moorlands parks. I was asked to officially open the parade and even had the pleasure of awarding prizes for the two best parade entries. Such a fun and vibrant community event!
