Sunday, 1st December 2024: Christmas Lights at The Circle, Bacup
The festive season began at The Circle in Bacup with the annual Christmas Lights switch-on. It was a lovely evening, with families coming together to enjoy the start of the holiday season and there was a great sense of community.
Monday, 2nd December 2024: Britannia Primary School Visit
Visiting Britannia Primary School was a real pleasure. The children were full of excitement for Christmas, and hearing about their holiday plans was a nice reminder of how excited children get at this time of year.
Wednesday, 4th December 2024: Cowpe Community Hall Christmas Meal
The Christmas Meal at Cowpe Community Hall was a warm gathering of neighbours and friends. It was a great evening, sharing stories and enjoying the company of the local community.
Friday, 6th December 2024: A Night of Music and Charity
I attended two wonderful events: the Princess of Wales and Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire Christmas Concert, and the Blackpool and South Ribble Mayoral Ball. Both were memorable evenings that celebrated local music, generosity, and a real community spirit.
Saturday, 7th December 2024: A Day of Festive Celebrations
December 7th was filled with festive activities. From the CRUK Christmas Fayre to Bacup Market and the Horse and Bamboo Theatre, it was a day that showcased the creative energy and spirit of the community during the holidays.
Sunday, 10th December 2024: Bowley Camp – Home of East Lancs Scouts
My visit to Bowley Camp gave me the opportunity to see the hard work and dedication of the East Lancs Scouts. It was inspiring to watch the volunteers supporting and guiding the young people in the community.
Monday, 11th December 2024: Rubicon Christmas Party and Fire & Rescue Concert
I had the pleasure of attending the Rubicon Christmas Party in Stacksteads before heading to the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Christmas Concert at Blackburn Cathedral. Both events were a great opportunity to connect with the community and show appreciation for the hard work of local organisations.
Tuesday, 12th December 2024: Rossendale Hospice Candlelight Service
The Candlelight Service at St. Mary’s Church in Rawtenstall was a moving occasion. It was a time to reflect and remember those we’ve lost, with the support of the local community.
Thursday, 14th December 2024: At Home with Pat and Andrew
Pat and Andrew’s Mayoral Charity Event was a lovely evening of connection and community support. It’s always inspiring to see the generosity of our residents.
Wednesday, 19th December 2024: Stronger Together Christmas Party
I joined the celebrations at the Stronger Together Christmas Party in Whitworth and Waterfoot. It was a warm and welcoming evening that highlighted the strength of the local community.
Friday, 20th December 2024: Carol Service at Edenfield Parish Church
The Carol Service at Edenfield Parish Church was a peaceful and reflective evening, capturing the true spirit of Christmas.
Saturday, 21st December 2024: Elfabet Trail, Bacup
The Elfabet Trail in Bacup was a fun event for families, bringing some holiday cheer to the local area. It was great to see the creativity that went into making it such an enjoyable experience.
Sunday, 22nd December 2024: Santa Express, Bacup
The month ended with the Santa Express in Bacup, where children got the chance to meet Santa Claus. It was a heartwarming way to close the festive season.
