Leave your lawnmower in the shed and let your lawn grow long, just for the month of May. This would ensure that smaller plants including clover, daisies, and dandelion to get a chance to flower and give pollinating insects a head start.

World Bike Day (3rd June 2024)

Organic September (1st – 30th September 2024)

The Soil Association lead Organic September which is a month long campaign to raise awareness of the many benefits of organic food and farming including supporting biodiversity and wildlife.

Second-hand September (1st – 30th September)

Oxfam leads Second-hand September, a campaign to encourage people to buy second-hand items for 30 days in the month of September. According to Oxfam, making a new pair of jeans results in the emission of 16.2kg of CO2, the equivalent of driving over 58 miles in a car. By recirculating our old clothes, buying wearing and donating old cloths, we can help reduce the demand of new cloths and CO2 emissions from the manufacture of new clothes.

World Clean Up Day

World Clean Up Day brings together millions of volunteers and organisations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem. It is a great opportunity to get involved in cleaning up litter and mismanaged waste from rivers, beaches, forests and our streets helping to clean up tonnes of waste in your community.
